| It does, that's why I said I was just curious. Incase I wanted to see how well it would cool at any noise level. | A Lonely Geek | Dude, whatever you do, you gotta get rid of that stock cooler. If the case you get leaves you with little cash left, I recommend the Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro. I reviewed one when they first came out, and was so impressed have bought a couple since. The load temp on my X2 4400, regardless of the clock or voltage has never passed 51C. NewEgg presently has them for $19.99. Really, IMO, if you are going with a mid-tower, it really doesn't matter what you get, there just isn't that much difference in them as long as there is a 120mm fan front and rear, and decently large mesh. A side fan may help a little...if it is in the right place, which many of them aren't. As much as you move your rig, though they are hideously ugly, the Coolermaster Ammo 533 has a really nice carrying handle, and 120 mm front and back...though it only comes with one fan and you have to buy the second separately. |

| I don't know how to put this, but, I'm kind of a big deal. | Hey Frank, what kind of stock cooler did you compare the Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro with? When I reviewed it for HardwareLogic (LINK) on a 4400+ X2 testbed, it was pitted against AMD's newer heatpipe stock cooling solution, which is quite good, and the ACF64 didn't end up holding much of a thermal performance advantage (though it excelled at noise management). That's not to say it's a bad cooler by any means, but more of a testament to AMD's heatpipe stock offerings. |

| I guess I really don't need a new case. Currently I have the X-Superalien (got it 4 years ago). I really don't like the way it looks and it's cooled with 4x80mm fans... and we all know 80mm fans aren't the most quiet. The quality isn't very good either . So I figured it was time to upgrade. However, it performs well enough for my needs. So maybe it'd be best to save the money from the case and get ultra cooling .Right now I'm leaning towards the thermalright products because I like being able to choose the performance/noise ratio. I'm thinking maybe putting some panaflo fans on the ultra-120 and hr-03? This one for the ultra and this one for the hr-03. What do you think Also, is there much of a performance difference between the ultra-120 and the extreme edition![]() EDIT: I just realized that the ultra-120 might not fit in the X-Superalien ![]() AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+@3.16Ghz 1.4v Gigabyte GA-M61P-S3 Crucial Ballistix DDR2-800 @904Mhz 5-5-5-15 2.2v XFX 7900GS@550Mhz core 870Mhz memory Corsair HX520 PSU X-Fi Xtreme Gamer sound card Cooler Master RC-690 Stock HSF Accelero S1+Turbo Module Last edited by _WBaS_; October 10th, 2007 at 05:09. |

LOL...Not only did I buy a couple of the Freezer 64 Pros, I bought a Freezer 7 Pro with my Q6600...and is cooling very well. Get to compare it to one of the new Kingwin Heatpipe Direct Touch coolers, got one for review in the mail yesterday. I'd link to my review, but the site was redone recently, and it was one of my many reviews that didn't get put back up. He reformatted all from the past 1.5 years...that review missed it by a month or so. | |

| Yeah I've heard this cooler is pretty decent at high speeds. Frostytech actually reviewed it and it's like top10 for AMDs. I don't know what to do. I feel like I need to keep updating my system... SO ADDICTIVE!!! In all reality... my stock cooling is fine for the OC that I have, the case is alright for my use, and the GPU hsf keeps temps under 70C. I just feel this computer needs something else... I'm sure you all have felt this way a time or two... ![]() But back to the AMD HSF... does anyone know how to get it to run faster than 3000rpm? ![]() And it's not just RPM you should look at. It's the CFM (Cubic feet per minute) of the fan. | Yeah I know, but I already have this fan. Frosty said that in their review they had it full speed (6000rpm) but I don't understand how they did that. That's part of the reason why it places so well on their chart. They kind of explain it here. Can anyone help explain it a little better? I'm curious what kind of temps I can get with this bad boy (eventhough I'll be party deaf haha). EDIT: I just got this rig this summer... so I'll be stuck with it for awhile now. I don't have the money to get new computers too often :( AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+@3.16Ghz 1.4v Gigabyte GA-M61P-S3 Crucial Ballistix DDR2-800 @904Mhz 5-5-5-15 2.2v XFX 7900GS@550Mhz core 870Mhz memory Corsair HX520 PSU X-Fi Xtreme Gamer sound card Cooler Master RC-690 Stock HSF Accelero S1+Turbo Module |
