If you are using the core temps from ITAT, Coretemp or Speedfan then yes you are doing great. If oyu are using the single temp reading that the BIOS and other programs use then you are a little hot.

Yep those were the temps using Core Temp while running two instances of CPU Burn-in.

I try and stay at about 50șC or less, but to each his own I suppose.

Under 50c would be super on the core but the real issues do not hit till near 70c. With that in mind I find that if the ambient is really hot and you stay under 60c then you are doing good.

In fairness that info is needed to really judge, what is your room temperature when you are testing?

No idea....I need to get a thermometer.

Well, I just changed my settings to what Quakin is currently running and got a lot better temps. I'm at 3.375Ghz and 1.325v and temps after running Core Temp and CPU Burn-in were 45C and 46C on both cores.

Okay so dropping the multipler and upping the bus lowered the temp?

The multiplier is still at x9. I just upped the FSB and lowered the voltage. Seemed to work ok. Like I said, I'm not sure what the ambient temp. is in my room at the time of both, but it seemed to work ok. Haven't had any problems so far.

It's been my experience with the E6600 CPU's, two different ones for my own use and four with building for others, that at 1.357V in the bios, I get about 1.325V actual in CPU-z after voltage droop. At 1.325V, every one of the E6600's I've built around have happily run right up to 3.375Ghz. As soon as I go past 3.375Ghz, I have to up the voltage considerably for each 10Mhz in FSB increases. As soon as I'm hitting the max voltage for the E6600 in CPU-z, 1.3525V, and hitting about 3.5Ghz, I'm hitting temps in the mid to high 60's with an ambient temp of 72-74*F.

I'm running 3.6ghz @ 1.5v and my temps are fine. On bios screen my temps are 44C but when fully loaded i hit up to 50C. I'm happy with my set up. I am no longer going any higher or any lower. I just wish I had a Cooler Master Case. Can't you fit about 12 fans in there w00t w00t!

I have been able to get my E6600 at stock votlage and colling up to 3 Ghz which is enough for me but the temp when ambient is near 30C climbs to near 70C, to hot for me. I have a Big Tyhpoon VX I am going to mount this weekend and have an Antec 900 on the way, that should let me run at 3.0 with no issues.
