Default Re: PENTIUM D 945 TEMPS AND COOLING

guys i went into bios to lower vcore. bu i realised that i have EIST which autimatically lowers or increases vcore accordingly tro cpu usage. if i was to lower fsb and leav vcore on auto, will vcore automatically adjust when i lower fsb, or do i have to do it manually.
btw anyone know what vcore is for d 945 as it jus keeps changing.

Not sure if EIST will auto lower your vcore or not. Try it and see. Use CPU-z to see what your current Vcore is.

And you Vcore limits, as given on the processor info page I linked you to on the first page of this thread, is 1.225V - 1.1312V.

From what I've noticed on my E2140, Intel's thermal throttling lowers the multiplier and reduces the voltage. I'd assume it is probably the same for the Pentium D chips, but you better take Quakindude's advice and check out what CPU-Z has to say about your voltage.
