| I sort of sound like the voltages are out of wack, but that still doesn't explain why it's freezing with both PSU's. Forgive me if I'm wrong, but you motherboard might be "with-holding" some some voltage from your CPU. The mobo V-REGs might be off. That was just a whim, and I don't really know what I'm talking about, so you'll have to verify it with some one else. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. ![]() |

| 1. Just for the hell of it have you looked in the event viewer logs? You may find something logged that points to a problem. Right Click My Computer and choose Manage. In the Computer Managment dialog box expand System Tools and expand Event Viewer. Click to hilight System then Application (one by one) and look in the Right Pane for errors denoted with a Red X. Double click those errors to learn more about them. 2. Saw your refrence to not having any thermal paste (compound). I would get some and throughly clean the HSF and remount it with a rice grain sized dap of thermal compound. Clean the HSF and the Processor throughly with isopropanol alcohol. My take is among the most common causes of "Freezing" are thermal issues, and graphics driver issues barring the PSU which in your case is a been there and done that. Ron |
