| Running AS5 and IC7 comparison on my old E6550 that i sold to my buddy, i saw a good 8 degree idle difference. Didn't see the full load since i just built it and booted for him. Here's my results for my E3110, sorry don't have a comparison with AS5. Like others said, very thick stuff but doesn't give the baked effect like AS5. PC Wizard 2008 (only one i can get to work for remotely correct temps) reports 30 degree processor temp while playing WoW. Also put it on my 8800GTS With the S1 Accelero cooler and im seeing 38 degrees on the GPU temperature, which is lower since i was gettin 46 with the stock EVGA Cooler/paste. E6550 after 6 months of AS5 ![]() Scythe ninja after 6 months: ![]() I didn't take any pics when i applied the IC7 again since i had to swap MBs, but from when i removed it the IC7 was nice and spread with no caked effect. Was VERY THICK like others said, took 2 turns of Articlean to get it completely off |

| The Real Final Word | Hey IC! About a month, month and a half. But keep in mind, the system is on 24/7, so probably around a 1,000 hours of running time. With the IC Diamond, I suppose it has been running around 350 to 500 hours. Also, when I first started the system up, I really didn't see all that much of a difference, oh, about a 1C or so, but within a week the difference really came through ![]() Oh yea, and this is running the latest version of Core Temp and Vista Ultimate with SP1. |

| Quote: This is one of my hot interests these days, what happens down the road to installed greases? Anecdotally you see/hear reports of dry out, bake out, of people having to chip off the old compound etc. Problem is it takes a huge effort to quantify it even on a single test let alone multiple pastes. How about an informal poll? Who here has had paste dry out ? Who has not? I'll be surprised if I get a response, I think you guys are pretty bored of the grease topic at this point. |

| I have not forgotten our Canadian brothers. I am working on it, try emailing or posting on their forum requesting they carry it. It might knock them off the fence |

| Modder-ator | I've never had paste "dry out" on me, but I also don't think I've left a heatsink untouched for more than a year so maybe it just hasn't had a chance. I've used mostly Arctic Silver 5, but also Ceramique and Arctic Cooling stuff. |

| I'm Diggin it! | I've had AS Ceremique dry out and turn hard on me. I had to chip it off a highly overclocked Prescott processor. I've had AS5 just turn to what looked like gummy dust. It seems like the higher the CPU clocks were, the more radical the pump out/baked on/powderized etc... the TIM was. I've even had AS5 on a GPU before that looked like one of those trace a sketch tablets. It had clearly detailed, fairly straight lines of dried up AS5 heading from the center of the GPU to the sides. I've seen TIM do some funky shit. The white ones always seem to pump out the easiest or are completely baked on.
