Cut a piece of plastic 1/4 1/2 in thick and apply some paste to an IHS apply some pressure and the magic cross will appear. Kinda nifty

There is a wide variety of spring mounting hardware out there some good, some marginal. The marginal ones will affect the performance of both TIM's differently. So it is in your general interest and not ICD7 specific for optimization of performance. Might make a good article for some motivated reviewer to buy some mix of springs 5, 10, 20 30lb springs to determine optimum pressures. Might even be able to make a business out of selling replacement hardware.

I would look for a snug fit that won't move on mount. Otherwise I leave it up to your motivation. Most geeks that I have run into on the forums are generally a bright lot to begin with, Just pointing it out will double check their mount.

It's your call If you think it's OK, then run with and post whatever result you get. If you think the mount is a little light but does not make a difference to you that's OK. If it really bothers you and you want to fix it go ahead and buy or scavenge some heavier springs, shim it and see whether it makes a difference. Up to you

One option as a simple test with a tower sink would be to lay it (case) on it's side so the sink is in a vertical position to prevent the weight lifting one side.

This is just a product promotion, maybe I am throwing to much detail but there are some differences in product I like to point out initially but other than that just post whatever result you get and do not worry, just be ready for the final exam at the end of this exercise
Alright. I'll see how it goes whenever I receive it. :P

Woot, I got mine in the mail today. I owe 17 cents shipping though, lol (since the envelope can't be machine processed, lol). Which is actually pretty cool, gives me a way to get rid of some of my excess pennies!

But one question... my tube of compound didnt have a cap on it at all, is that a problem? (I put some tape on it just in case, but it doesnt seem like it's dried up or anything so far).

Thanks, btw... i'll get this stuff on everything as soon as I can (I'll probably be pulling my cpu to flash my friends new mobo anyways, so that it'll support wolfdale properly, so I'll do it then).

The Post office is a piece of work, I have done three Identical shipments, they weigh the packages then give me the stamps and I get 3 different prices. I even asked them to double check because of the price changes.

Missing cap is no problem I have a 10kg container in my office that's been open for over a year with no dryout

sorry about the 17 cents

Yeah, I don't think it was anything you did, according to my dad (who processes mail at the local post office, as a matter of fact), the charge likely is due to the fact that the machines they have at our post office can't handle that thick of envelope, so it had to be hand processed.

But seriously, now I have something to use my pennies for, so woot!

And thanks so much for sending it! I'll get results posted here soon, I hope (depends on if I get to it before work this weekend...)

When I get my tube I am testing it on my Xeon quad core, 2900XT and my dads E6550. I have my DMM with the temp probe all ready to go.

Just posted on the Overclockers.com forum a picture of pump or bake out I do not know which, they are pretty similar

Because you guys are a bunch of pathetic slackers, who can't get 25 posts....I've dropped the requirement to 10 posts before the end of the month, with the same requirement that you post your results and experience here.
