Is anyone going to try this with any AMD processors? Just curious, Bailey.

If it comes in before my order from NCIX (which I just passed 30 minutes ago) I'll be able to compare it to AS5 currently on my Opteron 165 in my 900 with a TT Big Typhoon. :)
Else I have to retest everything (2 weeks for AS5 to cure) as I'm going to re-apply TIM when I swap my mobo. The environement will be an Antec SLk1650B, TT Big Typhoon.

I am going to test it on AMD X2 4400, AMD 3700, 2X AND MP 1200, and an Intel P4 520.

another thing... some dual cores like the PentiumDs have 2 cores under a single IHS... some 65nm quad cores have 2 dual cores under the IHS.. and in these cases simply spreading from center is not going to be optimum. Guess when a lot of us receive this stuff we will hear all different testing methods to see what works best in the real world.

hey screwball just a bit off topic, but when i put AS5 on, i went by their instructions to make a thin line smack in the middle of the processor (for dual core). they didnt say nething bout small grain of rice anymore =(

(thanks blake!)

I said the same exact thing about 2 hours ago in a different thread concerning the Diamond 7 TIM, but it was deleted...

Yes, obviously some adjustment - Use commonsense, enough to get a good spread. Line or magic cross maybe more appropriate. Wing it as they say

We are all pretty good about taking our meds around here.

I, the staff, and many of the more established members take a lot of pride in our community, and its reputation.....we may not be the biggest forum on the web, but I think anyone would be hard pressed to find a better group of people than we have here.....I'm extremely proud of the HL community, and consider all of the mebers to be my friends.
