That's the same thing I was thinking, and the reason why I usually don't remove the heatspreader in my memory reviews. In fact, that's how I killed the PC4000 Ballistix Tracers kit I wrote about last year.

For those that need additional cooling to pump volts through their RAM, there are easier (and effective) alternatives:

OCZ Flex XLC Watercooled RAM
OCZ XTC RAM Cooler
Corsair Airflow Fan

it may work well for those strange people that overclock using fanless cooling

I find that OCZ XTC Ram cooler to be quite attractive. I love the bling, you oughta see the chrome on my bike!, and this thing may actually perform.

Of course, as in all things air cooling, good airflow through the case is of the highest import.

Really? I wouldn't. The extra heat added to my loop... looks pretty restrictive... I'd much rather use heat pipes. If I had tons of money to blow on a computer, I might use one of these but any other way I wouldn't.

well if i had the cash, i would use an exos2 on the cpu, and chip sets, and an koolance drive system on the ram and gpu's. lots of water in that case, and probably not as effective. But its been a long time since i worried about that kind of thing.

That's an awesome system. Phenomenal actually. I just wonder how absolutely foolish bit-tech will feel once someone points out that e-SATA is available on that mobo. As a matter of fact, any of the the SATA connectors on the mobo can be configured as one through the Bios.
