2) A diamond based paste is likely going to cost an arm and a leg, and like the Killer NIC and Ageia PhysX, the question of need comes to mind.

3) "Disclosure: Joe Citarella has a financial interest in a company developing cooling products for electronic chip cooling." - That's akin to reading a review of Vista written by Bill Gates.
Amen. No graph was really useful except the last one. I'm pretty sure not everyone on this site would understand the concept of thermal resistance and so on, not only when applied to thermal paste. Not everyone cares either. :P
The need is not there, yet. I'm not sure either we will ever need it, but that's something else.
And lol @ #3. Bull's-eye! :P

The thing about some of those graphs too is that they don't all start the Y-Axis at 0, making the graphed results look more exaggerated than they really are so if you just look at the chart and don't actually "read" it, it gives you a false sense of how the different factors really compare to each other.

Totally.
Besides, diamond thermal paste wouldn't be that expensive, it would be diamond "dust". It's still not quite useful as of now, silver makes the job good and even silicon is ok for the vast majority of users.

Yeah, the difference between an average white paste and Arctic Silver 5 is only an average of about 2-4 degrees Celsius. I can't imagine that this diamond paste would be worth your while for another 2șC over AS5...

LOL...I'm sorta guilty of that(not the bragging part though).
If I don't get to tweek something everyday, I go insane...lmao

Not sure I would like using an abrasive as a thermal paste...not that the vibrations in a case are all that bad but kind of defeats the purpose of having lapped/machine ground contact surfaces.

Would the thermal paste have abrasive properties? I'd hope that they would ground it down enough that it wouldn't be a problem.

Its just not practical at all.
I was going to bring up the same point as Paul, in regards to the guy having a financial interest in developing this, but its quite common for reps from companies to write articles for sites talking about products and getting ideas.

Actually I think that Joe Citarella guy has been at Overclockers.com for quite some time. He just recently (within the past year or so) started developing thermosyphon cooling prototypes, so that's where his affiliation with developing cooling solutions comes from.

Yes, even in a fine ground powder it's still abrasive.
