| Whatever happened to this mod? I'm curious because I'm interested in one of these units. What kind of performance are you seeing, and do the risks outweigh the rewards? |

Some of the risks can be compressor failure (unlikely) refrigerant leak (very unlikely) and codensation (very likely). Opteron 64 165--1.5GB DDR--ECS KA1 MVP(thanks HL!)--x1800GTO 256MB--Seagate 320GB SATA--Antec 550 Watt--Antec P180 | |

| I'm Evil | Still haven't gotten the Prommie back from BB Mod's yet, I'll check on its status and post back here. As to these units overall, they aren't worth your time and trouble anymore, the AMD processors have a cold bug that prevents using this, and the new INTEL processors scale just fine on high end air or water.....The phase change cooling units are too expensive, too risky, and too high maitenance. | Is this thing just for cooling the proc or can you cool the other parts as well? |

| I'm Evil | Just the processor.......they are a pain to deal with, especially if you are constantly removing/changing out stuff like I am. If you are going to set up a system and leave it for a long period, they are okay. You have to basically seal the board....some people use dielectric grease, some seal string, and others neoprene, or a combination of the above as the heat generated by the system, and the cold generated by the cooler can make condensation a huge issue. | Sounds like too much trouble unless you just want to see how high you can overclock. |
