| Colonel Calamity | tonschk, that means the sensor on your E8400is either bad as mentioned in this thread previously or the compound was not done properly causing higher temps. try Core Temp, Speedfan and TAT (Intel's Thermal Analysis Tool) and see what the temps across all 3 programs are. ![]() Thanks HL and Corsair! | Here are the temps for my new build. Stock cooler with MX-2 thermal paste. Idle ![]() Load ![]() Not too bad considering computer is sitting close to heat register. (No other place to put it.) | which temp monitor is usually more accuate, coretemp is consistently 14 degrees C higher than speedfan reading on my Q6600. I ask because under stressprime core temp shows readings in mid 70's and that is kinda scary.
