| I'm sure OC'ing the CPU with the current cooling will not bring up the temps that much. I ran my cpu @ 2.64Ghz (from 2.4Ghz stock) when I experimented with OC'ing and the temps maybe went up 1-3 degrees, even at full load (45-46C). Even hit 3Ghz by accident , and it still booted into the BIOS. || AMD Athlon64 3800+ Venice | Asus A8N5X s939 | OCZ Premier PC3200 Du-Ch 1GB | Sapphire X1600Pro 512MB PCI-e | 1xWD 80Gb & 1xWD 250Gb Sata(s) | Antec SLK3800B Case | Enermax NoiseTaker 485W || |

| Ok well i will experiment with OC'ing as it is and see what happends. I have also thought about an open case mod. But that kinda scares me due to I have small children that like to stick their fingers where they don't belong..lol Athlon 64 4000+ 2.4 ghz 2 ghz HT 2 x 1GB PC3200 RAM LG Lightscribe DVD/CD write 18x/48x read 16x/48x Windows XP Pro SP 2 & Windows 2000 pro sp4 BFG Geforce 7800 GS OC 256mb running dual displays Zalman CNPS9500 CPU Cooler K8 Triton GA-K8U-939 Mobo w/ULI M1689 Chipset Xion 600W PSU w/dual 12v rails |

| Just OC slowly and watch the temps, you should be fine. Since your chip is also running 2.4Ghz these are the settings I used to run my 3800+ @ 2.64Ghz 264mhz FSB x 10 multiplier HT at 4x = 1056mhz I also had to lower the memory multiplier, this solved most stability issues. || AMD Athlon64 3800+ Venice | Asus A8N5X s939 | OCZ Premier PC3200 Du-Ch 1GB | Sapphire X1600Pro 512MB PCI-e | 1xWD 80Gb & 1xWD 250Gb Sata(s) | Antec SLK3800B Case | Enermax NoiseTaker 485W || |

| I Just found out that the max temp for the 4000+ is 71 deg cel. at which point it burns out. I will try your example. Thanks for the advise. | I just might go with an open case mod. I opened my case with it still powered up and the CPU temp dropped 8 deg instantly and continued to drop another 3 deg over 30 min. I am in the process of making an open case mod at this moment. I'll post a pic when i'm finished. I will have to find a way to set it up high so kiddos can't get to it. | socket 939 junkie | get some chicken wire or window screen to put over the side. make a few support bars and mount them to the case. should keep prying fingers out but i dunno how well it would hold up to any kind of force |

| LMAO, electricity eh? Hmm, That is a good ... naa. I don't want to kill them..(well most of the time)lol. But screen mesh is a good idea. Didn't think about that. I wonder if those invisible fences for might work? Just run the wire around my pc room and then wrap the collar around their necks..lol Athlon 64 4000+ 2.4 ghz 2 ghz HT 2 x 1GB PC3200 RAM LG Lightscribe DVD/CD write 18x/48x read 16x/48x Windows XP Pro SP 2 & Windows 2000 pro sp4 BFG Geforce 7800 GS OC 256mb running dual displays Zalman CNPS9500 CPU Cooler K8 Triton GA-K8U-939 Mobo w/ULI M1689 Chipset Xion 600W PSU w/dual 12v rails Last edited by Banditman; February 4th, 2007 at 22:02. |

| We take both criticism and positive comments very positively | yes, condensation will be a big problem.....and one not easily dealt with....trust me when I say a good air cooled solution like a TT Big Typhoon or Zalman CNPS9700 is plenty good. I'm using a Big Typhoon on my E6600 and have it running 3.5GHZ 24/7 INTEL QX9650 // Gigabyte EP45 Extreme // 8GB PC2-8500 // BFG GTX260 MaxCore // DD Torture Rack // Seagate 750GB HDD // OCZ Vendetta // PC Power & Cooling 620W PSU |
