| *sobs* tis true i am the uk :( and my main fear really is that the lanbox being a tiny lil thing wont push much cool air in and the card will over heat and then the fan will spn faster making more noise and then boom really. ![]() Project Luxray: 1st August... | ||||||||||||||

| Ive decided to pick either: The Aplus Blockbuster A-Plus CS-Blockbuster BAW - Black Window Cube - No Psu - XCASE No1 For pc computer cases, atx cases & rackmount cases AND The EVGA 8800 GT AKIMBO EDITION Computer hardware and software at amazing prices, available online from Scan Computers UK so the exhaust removes more hot air from the system AND 120mm Noctua NF-S12 1200 RPM Quiet Case Fan Computer hardware and software at amazing prices, available online from Scan Computers UK To improve air exhaustion from the case. OR Can i save money and go for a thermaltake lanbox lite and a normal single slot 8800gt? ![]() Project Luxray: 1st August... | ||||||||||||||

| Although Noctua has the best fans I've ever heard (or I guess in this situation, that I've never heard :P) I'm sure you can find cheaper fans such as Scythe S-Flex or the even quieter Slip Stream model. It's not big saving, but it's better than nothing. You would have to ask around here too if the Akimbo cooler is really silent, because I have yet to find a "stock" dual slot cooler that works well as in keeping the temperature low and keeps everything silent. Even if they don't throw hot air directly out of the case there's many third party coolers (Thermaltake DuoOrb, Zalman VF1000LED, Thermalright HR-03) which would keep your 8800GT silent and cold. :) ![]() If there is a final hour, let's hope for a higher power. One by one, and two by two, I have ammo, what about you? | ||||||||||||||

| Hmm well ... I GOT PAID TODAY woohoo alass im still gonna save up more for my "beast". On the case of noctua fans i dont mind spending abit more for high quality cooling. Its the whole AKIMBO thing which im in 2 minds about see i want the inside to be cool but i heard the single slot solution doesnt really aid the removal of hot air however seem to run alot quieter. ![]() Project Luxray: 1st August... | ||||||||||||||

| When I first got my 8800 gt i hated that it was so loud! I purchased an aftermarket cooler (duoorb) now the boxer is much happier! -1 I would rather read a NewEgg review than a [H] review | ||||||||||||||

| The one i had in mind was the BFG 8800 GT OC which i had used in my friends case and it was as silent as ever running on its default of 30% fan speed. Im really at a loss on what to do as i reallllllllly wanna get buying lol. ![]() Project Luxray: 1st August... | ||||||||||||||

| Well, look at it this way... The stock cooler is probably loud, but you are going to get it with the card regardless if you buy a different cooler or not. So just get the card, try it out, and decide for yourself if it is too loud. If not, great, go with it. If it is too loud, then you can get a better cooler (like the DuoOrb) at that time. | ||||||||||||||

| Your right... kk sorted. Now for low profile cooling of the E8400. Any suggestions? Preferably as quiet as possible :) ![]() Project Luxray: 1st August... | ||||||||||||||

| Will a Scythe Ninja Mini fit in the case? If not, maybe a Thermalright SI-128SE? Again, you can always start with the stock cooler and see how it suits you and then go from there (unless you are getting an OEM CPU). Last edited by gvblake22; May 29th, 2008 at 13:58. | ||||||||||||||
