| socket 939 junkie | returning customers. it only will work 1 time per purchase. so say you got that 7900gt but stepped up to an 8800gts, you couldnt step up from that 8800gts to (for example) an 8900gtx |

| Level 2 College Student | That is a very attractive warranty/support. It might outweigh the difference in performance between eVGA cards & ati cards How does this one look? eVGA 512-P2-N635-AR Geforce 7950GT KO 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Video Card - Retail or this one eVGA 512-P2-N637-AR GeForce 7950GT 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 HDCP KO Superclocked Video Card - Retail which is a step up from the *n635*. Only difference between the n635 and the n637 is an extra 40mhz of core clock. so it's 35 cents per mhz extra. Of course, the green text up there only begs the following question: Is the jump from 256 => 512 worth slower clock speeds by 350mhz for Memory and a slower clock by 25mhz? So Basically, what ^ says, is should I get: SAPPHIRE Radeon X1950XT 256MB - $249.99 eVGA Geforce 7950GT KO 512MB - $265.99 eVGA GeForce 7950GT 512MB - $279.99 Last edited by Zambini; January 2nd, 2007 at 16:33. |

| Level 2 College Student | AAHHHH So many cards! I'm gonna put em all (the ones I want to at least) into a chart... I'm overwhelmed by the amount of cards that are available and I have no idea whats what, except eVGA has a kickass warranty... lol But so far, the best 256 card i've seen is STILL the Newegg.com - SAPPHIRE Radeon X1950XT 100186L HDCP Video Card - Retail Core Speed: 625 mhz Mem Speed: 1800 mhz $249.99 And the best 512mb card is Newegg.com - HIS Hightech Radeon X1950PRO H195PRQT512DDN-R IceQ Turbo VIVO HDCP Video Card - Retail Core clock 620MHz Memory Clock 1480MHz $279.99 (- $20 MIR) Last edited by Zambini; January 2nd, 2007 at 18:46. |

Between those two cards you listed, the X1950XT with 256MB will actually probably perform better than the X1950 Pro with 512MB because the XT has more pixel pipelines (16 compared to only 12 on the Pro) as well as faster clock speeds for both the memory and the core GPU. The only thing nicer about the HIS IceQ3 X1950Pro 512MB is the heatsink/fan ![]() | |
