I would say it's worth the extra $40-50 to get the 8800GT over the 9600GT. The 8800GT beat both the HD 3870 and 9600GT in every test/benchmark. Or if you want to be more future proof, go for the 9800GTX. ![]() Last edited by Parker; April 8th, 2008 at 12:00. | |

| resident headbanger | Why go with the 9800gtx? They are basically the same card, and the performance gain is not worth the extra scratch you spend. I would personally recommend one of the 8800 parts (gt, or gts) because the 9800 sereis thus far has left me more than a little underwhelmed. -1 I would rather read a NewEgg review than a [H] review |

| i will hunt u. | You know, your guys are right. The 9800GTX is pretty much an OC'ed version of the 8800GTS G92. Save some money and get the 8800GT or GTS 512mb. ![]() (BTW, if you get the 8800GT, get the Akimbo version, it's got a better cooler.) |

| resident headbanger | I will agree on the akimbo or an aftermarket cooler, the 8800gt vanilla cooler sucks the big one for cooling that baby down. -1 I would rather read a NewEgg review than a [H] review |

| ^Sweet^ Having slept on it, I think I am going to splash out an extra £70 or so, for a 9800. I think it will be worth it in the long run. I might have to wait a while longer though, coz next on the hit list is a Antec P190 + 1200w PSU which costs a hefty £200. What I was going to do is, buy a P182, then get a 700w PSU. Those items together would have cost £185. So I thought, why not spend a little extra and get ALOT more. I just gotta wait a couple of weeks for a retailer to get the imported (Cheap) version in.
