| Gx2 is overkill, and not worth it for the cash money. |

| Colonel Calamity | True GX2 are only there to save space, not give that much better performance. Two 512MB 8800GTS in SLI has better performance than the 9800GX2. Plus the 512MB 8800GTS cards start out at $230 ea... which means better performance for $100 less. ![]() Thanks HL and Corsair! | Hmm.. seems like your LCD is 720P (1280x720) resolution. If that's the max your LCD will go then I suggest no more or less than an 8800GS. It goes through everything, even CRYSIS at max settings in 1280x720 and the card can be had for as little as $100 (with MIR). If your LCD goes to 1920x1080 @60Hz or above then just pop in a second 8800GS in SLI and run it smoothly in that resolution.. It is currently the leader in Performance/Price Also, don't underestimate it. It's a great card for a budget minded gaming PC. **8800GS cards** Newegg.com - Computer Parts, PC Components, Laptop Computers, Digital Cameras and more! |

| It is 720p but the native pixel resolution is 1366 x 768 @ 85hz. I am considering a 8800** ATM, but might go up a grade if I can. I defiantly want a Nvidia card. SLI isn't my top priority, but would be nice at the right price. | I reccomend the 8800GS then. It will completely crush your 8600GT, but won't kill your wallet. You really don't need an ULTRA high end video card if you won't be gaming in ultra high resolutions. The 8800GS can run crysis in 1366x768 on high settings with over 30FPS, and other games like Bioshock or COD4 maxxed out with 80FPS+ |

| Modder-ator | Any of the 8800 series cards would be an improvement over the 8600GT. But honestly, that card you have now should be able to play games at that resolution. What games do you play? |

| ATM I am playing Oblivion a fair bit, but hope to get Crysis in a week or so. The resolution is set at 1280x768 at present. I have tested it @ 1366 x 768. The results are mixed bag. From a distance, the environments shine with clarity. But up close, the textures reveal their true quality. You start to notice the imperfections, resulting in the realism being compromised. It runs fairly smoothly with my 8600gt and a e4300 (I know it says in my sig, I have a q6600-It is being delivered tomorrow). I am not sure what the main issue is, the GPU or CPU. Fitting the q6600 will answer that question! | if you're lookin at the 8800GS, maybe look towards the 9600GT. Lots of deals that can crank that baby down to around 110 shipped. and all the hate for my GX2 =( |

| I have been looking at both the 8800gt and 9600gt series GPU and the 96 seems to be cheaper. To me, that doesnt make sense if I am right in thinking the 96 is better. I dont get it!:embarassed: Q6600 G0 - Intel DP965LT MSI 8600GT (Silent edition) - Big Typ VX Seagate 160GB Hard Drive 7200RPM SATAII/300 8MB Cache Kingston 2x1GB DDR2 800mhz/PC2-6400 Non-ecc CL5 NEC Optiarc 18xDVD±RW DL Corsair TX750 - Danger Den Water Box Plus Panasonic 32" LCD - Vista 64 Premium |

| No, the 8800GT will beat the 9600GT, but not by a huge amount. For the price the 9600GT and 8800GT are both great deals. |
