I would rather read a NewEgg review than a [H] review

Back on topic: IMHO SLI is a bunch of hype. The performance Vs. cost ratio is ridiculous and unless you have a crazy-big display, there's just no sense in it. You're simply better off getting the best single card solution that you can afford.

One source was from gamers:

Valve - Survey Summary Data

for 4:3 displays, most have 16" or 17"
for 16:9 displays, it ranges from 19-24"

also the 2 most widely used resolutions are 1024x768 and 1280x960... not resolutions typically used with displays over 19"

Thanks HL and Corsair!

Just for the record, I am using a Panasonic 32" LCD Monitor/TV. Currently my resolution for Oblivion is set at 1280x768 as not to strain my o/c'd 8600GT to much.

Even @ 1280x768, sitting 5-6 feet away from the display, it looks pretty amazing. I will probably get a SLI enabled mobo and just get 1 SLI enabled GPU for now. That way I can always upgrade in the future.

Thanx for the info!!

you may also want to look into a GX2 so you only have PCIe slot used but dual card performance.
