Well, saying Vista sucks with onboard video isn't really true for the purpose this guy will be using the computer for. I helped a guy right down the street build a new computer and the Intel graphics chip on his mobo works just fine. He can play Bejeweled 2 just fine, run all the web games he wants with no issue and the need for a stand alone GPU simply wasn't there. It doesn't score well on the Vista system tester, but it certainly fills his needs. And he's doing so with a 22" Dell monitor.

Q6600@ 3.2GHz w/ CNPS9700 | EVGA 780i | 2Gb Corsair DDR2-800 | EVGA 9800GTX 512 Video | 1x WD 640Gb HDD, 2x Seagate 400Gb HDD, 1x250Gb WD | 2x Samsung SH-203B Opticals | Antec 900 | ABS/Tagan BZ700 700W PSU

Yeah ... this system will rock for my friend.
His older 2.4ghz AMD single core and IDE drive machine started to fail.

  • Has anyone tried the 0.8mm steel hec cases like the one I mentioned above?

It seemed to spec well at low cost.
