| T-Rex | From all my experiences with a ton of different video cards, there's little or no difference from a 256mb to a 512mb version of the same card. Ultimately what really counts is the graphical chip and the speed of RAM, not the amount of RAM. Furthermore, only a small percentage of the population really take advantage of the 512mb. I explained this a while ago in some thread, how anisotropic filtering and triple buffering used the memory. |

| Like it was said, the x1k architecture prefers fast ram, over more ram. As seen with the GDDR4 x1950 series. I'm pretty sure the 256MB Card would have preformed better, but that card is still decent. | Modder-ator | On mid-range to low-end cards, more than 256MB of graphics memory really isn't going to make much (if any) difference in gaming. So it won't be an upgrade for you... ![]() |
