Didn't this bother anyone?! Or is this just the way Panda Boy is? If so, I'm scared.

I used to install those, but for anyone with a decent video card they shouldn't be needed in my opinion.

2-4fps is a big difference. When you oc your videocard, you get maybe 10fps more at the most, 2-4 is 20-40% OC, that you don't even need to OC.

I get 194-195fps in ATITool, bump the clock from 500Mhz to 540Mhz and I get 204-205fps, a 10fps increase. Tried the Omega drivers once and it had a minimal increase of 1-3 fps.

Although if you have a POS video card, any number of fps is good, I remember playing GTA:SA on my old PC, it was around 17-25fps on low settings 640x480.

Back in the day when I was concerned over benchmarks and bragging rights, Omega drivers were gold. I could squeeze every last bit of performance out of my video card and then some.

The Omega drivers today allow for varying degrees of screen resolution the vendors don't always include and have, in the past, allowed for gamers to play their games at a resolution not otherwise supported. Weird resolutions of a few years ago were things like 1440x900. Omega drivers also give you control over every aspect of your cards performance. Omega drivers were doing this more efficiently and better than ATI Tray tools and Coolbits in years past.

Today though, I'm perfectly happy running nVidia's drivers. All the games I play are easily handled by my 7950GT video card.

I don't think its so much the performance increase (if there is any), but rather the different interface and options. Some people say the image quality is better in some cases, but that is likely just a placebo effect.

You have a X1950PRO, how would you know :P

there is a tiny performance increase, but I love the options as well. Omega's + ATi tray tool FTW!

Hehehe, I love my X1950 Pro!
I think I feel confident enough in saying it is the best video card I have ever owned (in every way).
