That really depends on what it is, and what condition it's in, and who it's being sold to. I have sold 2 year old parts on Ebay for half what I paid for them new. I have even sold old parts on Ebay for more then what I paid new. Parts that are out of production tend to gain value if they are needed to get a dated critical machine back up and running again.

If you are talking just in general, I would say 6 months, but again it depends. Graphics cards are on about a 9 month generation change, so they loose value quicker.

Sell your own stuff. I sold some parts that were very similar to what Paul had sold a few weeks earlier and made about the same as he did. skt 939 CPU's and MoBo are doing very well on Ebay right now.

Oh yeah... if you have any dual core s939 processors you can make a killing. Specially if you have an opty 185... don't get why people are spending so much on them too. The performance just isn't there...

There are a few reasons, 939 was around for quite awhile, so people who built single core systems 3 years ago are trying to squeeze out a little more performance out of their aging systems by going with a dual core. Those optys and x2's were great OCers, so they will always be attractive. Depending on what you are using your computer for they are still damn good procs. Even if you spend $200 on a used Opty or X2 thats still cheaper then buying a new Mobo CPU and RAM. It's worth it to some, that don't want to do a full upgrade.

I run an Opty 165 in my HTPC and have no plans of upgrading. Don't need much power to stream movies, music, and record TV shows.

haha, my stuff is probably worthless.... I'm just keeping it for sentimental value. I've got a Pentium sittin in my closet and some weird ram-like things that go into what I believe is a PCI-slot....

Is it one of those i-ram drives, possible? That's what I think of when I think ramlike pci doohickey.
