Thanks drew. Right now obilivan is taking a beating with my 9800xt so yes gamming is a priority.
Oblivion is a beast when it comes to hardware. My OC'd 7800GTX / 4400+ X2 combo is humbled when cranking up all the settings at 1280x1024 (my LCD's native res).

Nevertheless, a 7800GS would be a neato upgrade all-around. Also, you might want to keep an eye out on what Gainward is doing ---> http://theinquirer.net/?article=31380
  • "A cute thing for AGP supporters. Gainward is shipping the BLISS Geforce 7800 GS+ SILENT 512MB GDDR3 TV-Out/Dual DVI (AGP) - Retail and it will cost you a saucy £352.44 including VAT. There is no doubt that this is the fastest AGP card to date and it is available now. Its secret is that it uses 7900 GT chip inside clocked at 450MHz+ core and 1250MHz + memory. It has a fully functional 24 pipes and we are looking forward to test this baby..."

I have this card http://www.bfgtech.com/7800GS_256.html

I ran some 3DMark03 benches on it at various speeds...

400/1250 (default) = 11931
451/1250 = 12836
497/1440 = 13915
500/1440 = 13989

Screen shots available on request! :)

That 7800GS looks very appealing. I am still on a 6600GT and with some of these new games I really need some more graphic power. I'm having a hard time finding it in some stores though.

I Like Watercooling. D-Tek Fuzion, MCP655, MCR220

That Gainward card looks great, I'm going to have to wait awhile anyway so I might as well see what cards come out next.

I got mine @ Frys.

I don't imagine they have those in Canada!

Directron had a good price on it.
