Still, for a card that used to be $300 for the longest time versus a product that started at like $150.... it's pretty good.

Haha, you said tit.

Lol, couldn't resist. Anyways, that's a nice article. But I think Zambini bought the card already with his quick trigger finger (in this case, mouse finger, but it's the same finger).

Mine was $160 shipped. Then a -$20 MIR, so $140 shipped/finalized [basic math ftw] and the cheapest x1950 pro is $170 Shipped and after MIR.

So I guess the extra 75/100 woulda cost an extra $30.
Dunno what to make of that sentence tho. I still like what I snagged, and it doesn't cost a lot.

Grats on your purchase, but it's still an ATi. ;)

Really? Cuz in benchmark tests I seen it was just above the 7600GT... Can you show any reviews where it is at the 7800GT/7900GS level?

I have this Sapphire X1950GT and it runs everything I through at it flawlessly and at the highest settings (including AA, AF etc... I run everything at 1440x900 primary and 1280x1024 secondary)
Counter Strike: Source 120-200 fps
BF2 is gorgeous
SupCom runs without lag up to about 2500-3000 units on the map
anything else I have thrown at it I barely see a temp change

edit: just reran 3DMark06 and I got 4871 with this system (in my sig)

Thanks HL and Corsair!

Yellowhello,

What 8600GT did you get? I have heard the best buys are the ones with factory overclocking, puts them pretty close to an 8600GTS.

Computer Ed
Core2 Duo E6600 | Gigabyte 916P-DS3 | 4 Gig Corsair XMS2 | ATI HD 2900XT
X Fi Xtreme Gamer | WD SE16 32 Gig |Liteon 20X DVDRW SATA | Bose Companion 2.0
Antec Nine Hundred | Thermaltake Toughtpower 1KW | BenQ FP202W | Vista Ultimate 64

I got the BFG one (Therefore is factory overclocked.)

EDIT: What are the stock clocks for the 8600GT because I don't think the factory OC worked on mine. Do you have to do anything to enable the factory OC's?
