Default Re: My videocard won't fit

Sorry to derail this thread, but this is what I'll be getting after I get out of school (woot for graduation presents).

Intel E4300

Asus P5N-E SLI (I don't need SLI)

This motherboard will fit my graphics card with no problems right? Like I won't have to buy another retention module or anything right?

Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 at 2.4GHz
Gigabyte P35-DS3R Revision 2.0
4GB DDR2 667 (Corsair XMS2 x2 and Edge Technologies x2, 4-4-4-12)
eVGA 8800GTX stock clocked
OCZ 700w GamerXstream power supply
Antec Three 300 case
Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit with SP1

Those should all play nice together. Those Zalman Heatsinks Panda Man linked to are all going to be too big. You would need some type of tower style heatsink you can rotate 90º out of the way of the video card or a small heatsink that doesn't go outside the bounds of the processor socket. Your next best option would be to do what you described and get a new motherboard (and/or CPU).
