| It isn't likely that nVidia is going to idly sit by and allow this to happen. The 99xx series is right around the corner... and then the whole one-upsmanship game will begin anew. |

| socket 939 junkie | there is no 99xx series. its the GTX 2xx series. newegg has the GTX280 right now (the high end version) for around $650. right now it performs about the same as a 9800GX2 (a little better in some cases, a little worse in others) |

The 9800GTX on a 55nm is going out soon. Higher clocks, so better perf. Edit: S_I, the GTX280 doesn't outperform a 9800GX2. A 9800GX2 still wins performance and price wise, unless I've missed an important review. :S Edit 2: It seems you are right. I guess I was tired when I read about the GTX280.
