| A think a 50% price increase is a bit more than a couple of dollars, the closest price I have seen has 8800GTS cards at $100 more and better. |

| just for the frame of referance, the 8600GTS will beat the x1950 pro at low resolutions. At higher resolutions, the disadvantage with the 128bit bus is shown and the x1950pro is much more efficient. | We take both criticism and positive comments very positively | Hey guys, I'm a little late to the party....finishing off a really bad day here in Taipei.....which Ill explain in its own thread. ED, you bring up something a few others have asked about, and something we've explained several times (not your fault, its a valid question). I don't like comparative reviews. First of all, I want us to focus on the product we are looking at, its features, target audience, and value. I use benchmarks not so much to compare something as to establish stability and give a baseline as to what a consumer should expect (why we crank everything up in vide3o card reviews and why we test memory at several different timings). When it comes to video cards, I really don't like comparatives because there are WAY too many things which impact a cards worth, and way too many variables which can affect the FPS (which a lot of people use to gauge a cards value). I simply believe in showing what we were able to achieve at a variety of settings that many people who might use this card would probably use. AS to comparatives, I'll let other sites delve into that, there is just way too much that you can screw up going from card to card.
