| Yeah, i was gonna get the Pro, but the 8 phase vs 16 phase and Express gate on SSD (no clue really wtf that is) but the overall better cooling solution made me go deluxe. And also i used the ebay 35% cash back, so i pay 210 for the board from mwave's ebay acct, but i get 72 bucks back so i only paid 138 for the deluxe board =D |

I was thinking about the Deluxe, or the P5Q-E, but I only need 8-Phase and I don't need the special heatpiping as I'm going to do some cooler mods for it anyways. ![]() But I can't wait to get the new stuff!!! It'll be around the end of July that I order though, because I'm SUPER busy through this month and July..... ![]()

| polobunny: That's what I'd been wondering. On the Nvidia website, it talks about the 9800 GX2 like it is the ultimate card, but the GTX 280 is newer and costs a ton more... what's up with that? Plus, Alienware has on their site something about how the GTX 280 was "revolutionay" or something like that. The GTX 280 has the main clock speed 2MHz faster - big whoop! It also has a memory bandwidth that is 13.7GB/s faster - not overly impressive considering they are both over 125GB/s, but slightly better none the less. The 9800 GX2, on the other hand, has a texture fill rate 28.6 billion/second faster than the GTX 280 - fairly significant considering they're both under 80 billion/second. I'd recommend the 9800 GX2, anyone else think likewise? |

| Then judging by your standards, I must be dead and buried! I'm currently rocking with an ancient 6800 Ultra in AGP trim. =) |

That said, the GTX280 is far from having the same price:performance ratio the 9800GX2 has. Even the 9800GX2 doesn't have the best price:performance ratio but in my opinion if you want the almost strongest card and don't feel like ditching over $600, that's the card you're looking for.

| That kind of surprises me. The 9800 GX2 is a dual-gpu unit. Isn't the GTX 280 a single-gpu card? I too, however, believe that the price/performance ratio is a lot worse. (With the GTX 280.) |
