Yeah ... I won't be overclocking it ... but I will play a few games right away ... so if it is gona be pissy ... I'll know the first week or two.

Amazon is very good with returns ... if the item is defective in 30 days or less ... they will pay shipping for the return.

So I will try and test the cards limits ... chances are I will be fine ... and that I will buy the new die ATI card when they start to drop in price. the R770 core?

Ya, I remember reading more than a handful of PNY related complaints a few years ago. They also caught a lot of (deserved) flak over their shady Lifetime Warranty, which referred to the life of the product on retail shelves, and not the lifetime of the card itself. It's changed since then, and they now cover 3 years, plus two more with registration:

XLR8 Warranty (PDF)

EDIT: Looks like the Lifetime Warranty nonsense is still intact for some products:
Lifetime Warranty (boo!)
Verto Warranty (1 year, + 2 with registration)

"Lifetime is defined as the lifetime of the product on the market. Outdated technology is not covered by lifetime warranty if the item is no longer available on the common market as a new product."

I'll register it ... it will be the first electronics product I have ever registered thus far.

Well ... the PNY card deal fell through ... they moved the ship date out past the Rebate period.

I took no chances and canceled.

Back to the drawing board again ... I'm looking for a smokin' deal on a 9600GT or and 8800GT ...

Let me know what is out there.

If I see an 3870 for under $135 shipped ... that would qualify as another option as well. Must be DDR4 tho.

TGD, i'll keep my eye out if i see anymore must buys, but the 8800GTS G80 320MB version for 115 ain't a bad deal tbh. You won't be able to run Crysis at High settings, but it'll handle a lot of the stuff on the market with no problems. And being a Double Slot solution with the fan, you won't have to worry bout Overheating issues.

(thanks blake!)
