8800GT's are probably be the best value but what I am going to do is buy a 9800. Because by spending a bit more, you get alot more performance and you havent got to worry about new releases being compatible.

Q6600 G0 - Intel DP965LT
MSI 8600GT (Silent edition) - Big Typ VX
Seagate 160GB Hard Drive 7200RPM SATAII/300 8MB Cache
Kingston 2x1GB DDR2 800mhz/PC2-6400 Non-ecc CL5
NEC Optiarc 18xDVD±RW DL
Corsair TX750 - Danger Den Water Box Plus
Panasonic 32" LCD - Vista 64 Premium

OK ... if it doesn't say "G92" then is it best to assume it is the older core?

Do they make the 640 Meg 320 Bit in the G92 Core in any version yet?

ALL 8800GTs are G92. 8800GTS's that are G92 are usually distinguished with 512MB in the name like on Newegg. When in doubt, check the bus-width and memory. G92 only uses 256-bit with 256 or 512MB of RAM, only G80 uses the 320-640 oddball RAM.

Yeah ... I'm about prepped now.

G92 Core GT, GTX or GTS 8800 with the highest Processing Units and best sale price AR.

So now I am ready to pull the trigger when I see the super deal.

OH ... BTW ... besides EVGA ... who also has a 3 plus year warranty and good customer service?

I think bfg has a lifetime warranty, as long as you register the card in the first 30 days of purchase. Doesn't let you swap heatsinks or such... but it is a lifetime warranty. 24/7 phone tech support too, if I remember right... never had to call it myself though.

Hey ... I sure appreciate everyones help in here. HL is the place.

It is comforting to not always have to research everything so in depth.

But hey ... if you need cancer research or a cure for Arteriosclerosis [Or TA investing]... just ask and I will deliver ...

BFG has arguably the best customer service, along with a lifetime warranty. XFX has a lifetime warranty too. All three of those companies (EVGA, BFG, XFX) require you register the card within 30 days of purchase, or the warranty plummets to just 1 year.

MSI - 3 years, hassle free RMA policy (see here).
Leadtek - 3 year backing and online RMA form
Asus -3 year backing, but isn't known for stellar support
Foxconn - 3 year warranty
Gigabyte - 3 year warranty

and there are more...
