| Meh, the x2900XT was never meant to compete with the GTX anyway. The only thing though is that reviews site to site differ quite a bit in regards to performance of this card. Using beta/alpha drivers, other using release ones. Guess we'll have to wait a few weeks for ATI to get a new driver out the door to see what it can really do ![]() Opteron 64 165--1.5GB DDR--ECS KA1 MVP(thanks HL!)--x1800GTO 256MB--Seagate 320GB SATA--Antec 550 Watt--Antec P180 |

| A buddy at school told me that basically it was under the 8800GTX at all times, even worse at higher resolutions. Interesting. - Core 2 Quad Q6600 - DFI Infinity 975X - 4GB Corsair XMS2 w/ DHX DDR2-800 - 250GB Seagate 7200.10RPM + 160GB Hitachi 5400.4RPM - ATi Radeon X1900XT 256MB - Cooler Master Centurion 5 + OCZ StealthXStream 600W - Acer 19" P191W Monitor - Logitech Z-5500 Digital + Logitech MX Revolution - Vista Ultimate x64 |

| Well according to [H]*, it seems the GTS is faster then 2900XT yet they show no graphs to prove so. While in 3dmark the XT clearly beats the GTS. | We take both criticism and positive comments very positively | the graphs I'm looking at, although not the easiest to read, show the GTS beating the XT, a;beit not dramatically....again, I'm just saying, a lot of people were told to hold off buying new video cards because these were going to be incredible.....only to have them show no marked improvement INTEL E8400 // Gigabyte EP45 Extreme // 4GB DDR3-1600 // Palit HD 4870 // Antec 1200 // Seagate 750GB HDD // Zalman CNPS9700 // BFG ES 800W PSU |

I found this picture on another forum though http://img171.imageshack.us/img171/8...rpwnagewo3.jpg If that image is real, it looks like the x2900 has ALLOT of potential to be a pretty kick-ass card with some driver updates Opteron 64 165--1.5GB DDR--ECS KA1 MVP(thanks HL!)--x1800GTO 256MB--Seagate 320GB SATA--Antec 550 Watt--Antec P180 | |

| honestly, i predicted this was going to happen. i don't know what, i just had a feeling that nVidia would beat ATi with a card that they released well WELL in advanced compared to ATi. frankly, i couldn't be happier. pure nVidia fanboy here - always will be. now if my AMD "fanboy-ness" could only be tickled too! unfortunately, it wont be for a while - cuz i - like many - won't be switching to DDR3 for a while! |

| Don't be losing all hope in ATi just yet. They haven't got their best drivers out yet. A good set of drivers could well improve the 2900XT drastically. We'll just have to wait a little while longer to see what some real nice drivers can do. I think some people will buy this product though. Priced at 430 usd, it isn't too too bad. The only problem, will be the price competition from the 8800GTS. They'll need to lower the price quite a bit still. We'll just have to wait a little while longer to see what some real nice drivers can do. Besides, Ati will release the 65nm product and i bet it'll have some more nice touch ups to it. EDIT: THIS IS A VERY THOROUGH ARTICLE. Very long with too many pictures, but thorough.
