lol what? I realize the NDA expired but still, kind of a silly chart to keep secret to begin with. And I wonder why they're calling the compared card the "GTX-Ultra" as though they are the same card :

Anyways, along with "C2D killer," AMD also promised the exact same thing from the HD 2900, so I don't have a lot in faith in that chart/the card. This is what we should probably expect:

ATI Radeon HD 3870 and 3850 Hands-On - Features at GameSpot

But if it really does beat the Ultra for cheaper, who can complain? I wonder how it stacks up to the 8800GT, the price:performance ratio on that card is going to be extremely hard to beat...
The HD 2900 wasn't exactly pushed by AMD as the killer card. I think it was more of a community thing... :/

I'm leaning towards the "Seeing it is believing it" camp myself.
We can always hope that any news releases from either nVidia or ATI
will cause the other to do the same ad nauseum, and bring the existing
high-end cards down in price even more.

$250 is about what I'm willing to spend on a GPU.

Crossfire on a Stick? Meh..I was hoping for a dual core GPU, nice job breaking my hopes and dreams AMD.
I've got 10 bucks in loose change, think I can get a enough stock in AMD for a seat on Corporate with that?

Nice Quad Crossfire...
Hmmm I wonder if AMD knows about the law of diminishing returns....
The amount of bandwidth, CPU horsepower and memory needed to keep that type of setup running smoothly is insane.

So true! Not to mention the fact that I still have yet to see more than one real new AMD 790 chipset motherboard, let alone one with four PCI-Express x16 slots! But hey, I guess if you're running a 30" LCD and want to play Crysis maxed out, then you're gonna need all the horsepower you can get...

Like the Wilcat cards and even the Oxygen cards they were meant for graphics work and reandering.
(in the days before the CPU could handle all of that ;) remember hardware based OpenGL rendering on graphic cards?)
But yes the Rage Fury was a great card.
Phhhhhshaw!

Nothing beats my Voodoo with dongle.

We'd see these things most effective with with PCIe 2.0's extra bandwidth, and the 790FX has quite the bit of bandwidth itself from what I've read. To be fairly honest, the X2 card doesn't look half bad..but at only 15% faster then the current GTX, it's going to have to do better. Especially with the G92 GTS coming out.
