lol i don't even have that stimulus check calculated yet, i think you had to file in 06 to qualify for it, and since i just graduated last yr and this is 1st time filing myself, i don't think i get it. But its ok because IRS refunding me 1200 and NYS is refunding me about 500 =D Only thing holding me back is the length of the card.

(thanks blake!)

Not necessarily true, although you are right that they separate the higher performance chips from those that they feel won't be able to handle the ramped up speeds as well. A lot of it depends on supply and demand as well, a smart company isn't going to hold off on shipping out it's cards because a lot of chips they have on hand can get good overclocks and they can sell them as Superclocks. Also they sell far more regular cards then the factory overclocked variants, so those good chips are bound to wind up in the average joe cards.

Why's that?
As for your purchasing dilemma, you could always just spend that $250 on another 8800GTS 512MB and SLI those. Plus you could still use your Accelero S1 heatsink! Or you could just use the one card you have now and see if you are really needing an upgrade or if you just want to upgrade

HD Cage in the way, the 9800GX2 is suppose to be as long as the GTX, which its a barely fit for the GTS as is, as we all know GTX is 3 CMs longer. I could just cut down the HD cage a bit...
And SLI is not an option unless im taking my brother's XFX 680i board since the gigabyte EP35C has no SLI option.

It would be pretty easy to remove the stock HDD cage and make a custom one to hold your two drives. I can make one for you if you want. Just pay for shipping and I'll send it off to ya. You can even have your choice of clear or slightly transparent black...

Ha blake you just want me to get this 9800GX2 don't you =D
It'll fit with the color scheme of the case too lol.
I'll check after work and company dinner tonight and measure a little bit see what we'll need to clear the space out so we can do it, will find you on AIM or something, but i guess i'm stepping up to a 9800GX2 =D
Now if eVGA's site would actually work....

HAHA, no, actually I would rather not see you step up, I don't think it would be worth it. But then again, I don't know how your current setup is able to run your games...
Just hit me up if you have any questions or need some help with something on the case

now that we've managed to totally take over the thread, i figured we should get back a little on track, BFG's also offering the stepup to 9800GX2. All retailers selling at 599.99 it seems. Wonder if my PSU'll be enough for it.

Found someone selling the PNY one for 588.83 + shipping.
