| socket 939 junkie | unless the clocks are that much more superior to that of the 8800GTS 512, theres really no point in the 9800GTX. i mean theres some highly overclocked 8800GTS 512's out there as it is. | Very good point azianai. The more and more new games come out, the more and more I'm noticing the emphasis and stricter requirement of AA. It makes more of a difference now than ever before, and even changes the whole game play experience. I can't wait for the 9800GTX. |

| HL's Technomancer | 1 billion transistors and 256 shaders? LOLWUT? The link above is saying the bus width is 256-bits instead of the 512-bits listed in that chart, and it also lists the transistor count for the 9600GT at 754 million, same as the G92, which it was cut down to 505 million. Wouldn't call it accurate, although most of the other info looks correct...but a 1 billion transistor count on a 55nm would be insane, not to mention 256 shaders. |

| Modder-ator | Just found THIS at TechPowerup. Appears to confirm the 128 shaders and 256-bit memory interface. Maybe these modest specs will keep the cost down to reasonable levels compared to what the GTX usually commands? Another thing I find interesting in the GPU-Z screenshot is the DirectX compliance, 10.0 (not 10.1). Last edited by gvblake22; February 26th, 2008 at 05:30. |
