I've been into OC'ing video cards for a long time now - check out one of them under my sig.
I didn't mean for my post to make you feel like you know nothing, sorry, I was just sharing from what I knew.

I didn't mean for the "Lower end" to come out like that either, even though IMO the 8800GTS 320mb are old.
I am pretty sure that a 9800GTX will beat both of them in SLI.
If two cards can't beat one card, then it's not worth it.
Also knowing that you can get an 8800GTS 320mb for $115 after MIR.
They are good cards for systems that don't require a lot of graphics power, but not for higher end systems.

That is just My opinion, if you don't agree, well thats fine.

Back to an old question, do you guys think it's worth it for me to jump from my 8800GT 512MB to the 9800GTX?
How much of a performance increase will I get?

Or should I just get the Akimbo 1GB or 8800GTS 512MB?

no not worth it going to the GTX if you're only on the 22inch LCD.
Also can you even stepup to the Akimbo GT? I'm not sure since EVGA's stepups are usually only stock, and even if you do stepup you're not getting better performance with that 1gb GT, you'd really just be paying for the akimbo cooler which is cheaper than stepping up imo.
Depending on how much the stepup to the GTS will be, maybe worth going for the better cooling and small performance bump.

(thanks blake!)

Well here, the reason's I want to step up:

1. The newer cooler's on the GT's are better, as are 9800GTX's coolers
2. I can't get my card stable at 700/1717/1003, when I play Warsow at those clocks it'll lock up about 10 minutes into it and I have to quit the game.

The other option is to look at other cooler's, but I've looked and the cooler's will cost just about as much to step-up to a better card with better cooling.
There was a review done on the 9800GTX over at XS and it said they tested the cooler and it was really quiet, and efficient. (as is the Akimbo).

I bought the duo orb for 24.99 @ the egg to replace my stock 8800gt cooler and I haven't had a heat problem since. My temps hover ~ 30-40 under load whereas with the stock cooler they were ~ 50-70. The only negative I can think of for the duoorb is there is no fan speed control, it's 100% all the time, but even then its still pretty quiet.

p.s. I dont think it is worth it to step up, there isn't that much increase to warrant spending more money. The 8800gt is still a kick ass card.

I would rather read a NewEgg review than a [H] review

my case has blue led's all over it, so I couldnt tell you. They are at the bottom of the card so chances are they will just give off a faint glow.

in my opinion this cooler looks the best for the job if you consider a vga cooler. btw, if your card is unstable after 10 min. that is aserious heat issue. lower the OC before you get a better cooler or your card just might die before you do.
