| Modder-ator | These Charts should sum it up for ya ![]() ![]() But just remember, raw temperatures aren't very reliable because they can vary so much between systems and cooling setups and ambient temperatures. |

| good call blake. you find any charts comparing OCZ's 8800gtx's to the other 8800gtx's? i'm curious cause i bet they use their own ram, and that stuff is killer just wonder how they perform |

| When I run Orthos, it goes up to around high 60s usually... and sometimes low 70s. But on idle it's around 60. How can I check the speed and temps while im playing a game?? The only thing I can think of is alt tabbing and looking at nvidia monitor, but I wanna see both at the same time. | Orthos itself doesn't cause the graphics card to heat up. It's probably because your processor is heating up, hence the air in your case gets warmer causing the graphics card to run hotter. The best way to check your graphics card temperature is to run RTHDRIBL (rthdribl - Real-Time High Dynamic Range Image-Based Lighting 1.2 -) and let it go for an hour or so. Leave nvidia monitor running so you can check it. RTHDRIBL doesn't run full screen which is convenient. ![]() I Like Watercooling. D-Tek Fuzion, MCP655, MCR220 |

| I'm Diggin it! | Well, you can run it full screen if you resize the window it's running in. But normally, you can really put a butt-whoopin on your video card by maxing out the Multi-Sampling in the settings for RTHDRIBL and resizing the box to a couple resolutions below your native res. That way, like Ty pointed out, you can still see your other windows when you position them well. Here's another thread on this subject. My eVGA 7950GT KO with a VF-900 on it doesn't get much above 40C. Most I've ever seen it was at 50C. Get the app above and run it at a particular setting and make note of your Video card temps. Then, get yourself a smallish fan, like the table top ones that are 12" diameter or so, and point it at the side of your case. Of course, you'll want the side panel off when you do this. Then turn the fan on high and run RTH again and see what your temps are. If they are significantly lower, like greater than 5 degrees, then you need to take a serious look at your case airflow capabilities. You can do the same thing with your CPU BTW. Make note of the CPU and Video temps loaded with the side panel on, then with the fan pointed at the side of your case.
