One thing I just remembered is that if I set the tv as the main monitor and then boot, I DO see it post. Its just when it loads windows that it loses signal.

there is an option in the nvidia settings that says something like "click here if your TV is not detected" and it may be set to NTSC instead of PAL or vice-versa.. thats the only thing I can think of...

Thanks HL and Corsair!

I guess I don't really have a solution for this, but I ran into a somewhat similar problem.

I have a 19" viewsonic crt as my main monitor, and I wanted to use my 32" sanyo hdtv as an extended monitor for things like video editing and Supreme Commander. I bought this little adapter to convert DVI to analog component video for my old x850 a year or so ago. Now my logic says that it should work fine on the 8800gts just like it did with the x850, but I was having the same problems as you, no picture at all, even though the control panel said the T.V. was there.

Eventually I went to radio shack and bought a 30$ DVI to HDMI converter, and it works great. Don't know if that's an option for you though.

Great, now yell Hocus Pocus and see if it quits working. If it doesn't, throw a penny down the well.

<serious>Glad to hear its working. What did the trick?</serious>
