Okay first to call it crap would seem to imply that something I posted was false if this is correct and you have proof that the sources I quoted are not accurate please post it, I will freely admit I am wrong if that is the case. Second I find it really funny to have someone say I am trying to get an anti-MS frenzy going, most call me an MS apologist ![]() My point in all this was as follows, we have in DX10 a whole new system for video display. We have not yet seen a TRUE DX10 based game released. My understanding is that while many are beginning to claim it none are fully using it yet. We have video cards that are designed for the current DX10 standard. Now we find out that a new version of DX10 is about to be released that has new hardware related instructions that none of the current crop of cards will support. Now I could be wrong but the DX9 updates referenced did not ever limit DX9 implimentation on a DX( card did they? What I mean was did anyone have to produce a different DX version card to use any feature in the first DX9 that the early cards could not use? Now before the cry of how I am bashing MS begins let me be clear I do not think this is a bad thing and I see nothing wrong with it from the MS side. I do find it funny however that the video industry has us all buy these shiney new DX10 cards when we really cannot use them to full effect yet. Right now a solid DX9 card will run anything out with great playability and cost less by a fair chunk of change. Before we see anything that NEEDS a DX10 they are already seeing changes in the DX10 system that will not get 100% effect into play without newer hardware. BTW we still have none of those games either. The result to me is that people holding off with thier DX9 cards where the smart ones. | As I stated if I am wrong I am freely prepared to admit it. Spoke with a few of my sources within the video card driver world. All three came back with the same thing, that DX10.1 is a none issue. All had NDAs so I could not get details but all three said basically the same thing so I am fairly comfortable with their answer. | Functional Alcoholic | You are wrong about one thing, its not implimentation, it's implementation. |
