| parker, how much you like that buddy of yours...you get the case to me somehow, a 4850 is yours LOL btw, is the rumor true that the 4870'll release a 1gb version (not the 4870x2) Iif i read correctly, the 4870 needs 2 6 pci-e pins. Now, would anyone want to think if the 2 molex to 6 pin pcie has any adverse effects on the PSU? Cause i'd be upgrading my PSU to a TX650 that i can get for 80 bucks, but that only has 2 pcie pins. The TX750 is doable for 100, but thats a hefty rebate to eat 1st (at $45). Maybe i should just hold off and wait on my 4850s b4 doing anything lol Last edited by gvblake22; July 4th, 2008 at 16:26. | oh noes | I'm running one off my 3870's off an adapter right now, actually (and one of my 3870's even came with an adapter, that was ONE molex to pci-e, which I thought was odd). Also having to use an adapter to power my dvd drives... lol. The 450w powersupply i'm using right now doesnt have enough plugs for all my sata drives. Anyways, it seems to run pretty good. All things considered, at least. As long as the psu has the juice to begin with, using an adapter shouldn't cause any issues. ![]() e8500@4ghz|Asus P5k-e WiFi| 4gb OCZ ReaperX|2x 3870's|1.3tb storage space|MSI tv tuner. |

| F Ucn rd dis U mst uzUNIX | I agree there, but to a point. Here in this case, almost positive it will work with a 6-pin and THEN an adapter. I wouldn't put an adapter on both though. I feel 2 molex needs to be on a real 6 or 8-pin adapter. Real being the main feed. If you plug in one 6-pin and adapt the next, you're good. Same with Crossfire/SLI if both have the native pin on each card, and then adapt the second connection. Newegg.com - PC Power & Cooling S61EPS 610W Continuous @ 40°C EPS12V Power Supply 100 - 240 V UL, cUL, CE, CB, TUV - Power Supplies That has two 6-pin, and plenty of molex that would normally go to waste. I was hoping to catch the 750 on sale, but think those days are over now that crossfire is back in an actual desire. Mine were about $125...while the nVidia marketed ones (exactly the same) were $75 more. (Good lord, now they have a blue one with a different price) And I don't think HP had anything to do with the case. Rahul Sood, if anyone, had majority hand in it's building and design, lots of Zalman influence though, Asetek made the cooling, and who knows who made the BIOS work like it does. This is pure Voodoo, not HP. Last edited by Boy'nBlack; July 4th, 2008 at 17:07. Reason: added PCP&C link |

| oh noes | Nice! I'm stuck with this: V I P E R L A I R .com - Cooler Master Real Power 450W, Pg 1/2 for the time being... 450w didnt seem like enough for crossfire and 3 hard drives and all my fans, but it's holding up pretty well. Still think it's not quite enough juice... plus it looks really ghetto (not even a fan grill right now, had to gank that for a case), but everything is stable with it. Hope you're new psu works great! ![]() e8500@4ghz|Asus P5k-e WiFi| 4gb OCZ ReaperX|2x 3870's|1.3tb storage space|MSI tv tuner. |
