2. USB key: USB flash drive - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia 3. After the BIOS flash, there is a jumper on the mobo. I looks something like this: http://www.tomshw.it/guides/motherbo...mos_jumper.jpg to find where it is on your board, look in your mobo manual. Move the jumper from pins "1 and 2" to "2 and 3" for ~10 seconds, then back again. 1. When you download the BIOS update from ASUS' website, it'll be in a zipped file. You'll want to unzip that file. You should have a file that looks like this "P5E3D1001.ROM" (Notice the "ROM", the rest is dependent on the board you are using). 2. Put the UNZIPPED file onto a formatted floppy disk or USB key, and reboot your system. 3. When the system reboots, you should have a logo, or the POST screen, press the "DELETE" key, which will take you into the BIOS. Across the top of the BIOS home screen are a bunch of different menus, over to the top right, you'll see "Tools"....go to that menu, and there you should find EZ-Flash. Click on that.....and follow the directions. After flashing a BIOS, its always wise to power down the system and manually clear the CMOS, a lot of people never do that and experience problems such as corrupted BIOS or instability....its a simple but overlooked step.
