Yeah, at this point, I would go with the CD, floppy, or flash drive methods over Winflash just because of your 64-bit Vista operating system.

Go with the lower level dos update....

With Asus boards they have an option built in the bios, and one that you can run from a floppydisk\usb drive AND and Windows utility that works in vista 64, ok I will stop bragging now. lol

With #1..... rather than go through all that, try the windows button + pause/break

2 buttons instead of 5 clicks

Thanks HL and Corsair!

That brings up system properties not system information.

With the CD's, I think you need to have it be set up as bootable media (which I'm not sure if Windows DVD Maker can do). Can you check and see if that option is available in that program? Have you checked out the this guide?

yes, with CDs, I believe you need to have an ISO image.....and that can be a pain in the ass for the inexperienced.

I have found that to record an iso the free version of nero works great.

Caveat: I didn't look at all the individual posts in this thread, but when it comes to BIOS flashing, AVOID flashing from any kind of flash utility that (alleges to) work in Windows. Forums are littered with woeful tales of Bricked BIOS - just do NOT do it.
I use Win98SE boot floppy method (or Asus EZBIOS2 code to flash the BIOS from within the BIOS, but even that makes me nervous so I go DO method).

Off-Topic: Is "Oldman-Gamer" in this forum the awesome racer "OldManGamer" in Test Drive Unlimited online? Master of the G25 H-Shifter and manual clutcher? If so, Greetz OMG from Bo_TDU !!

I tried to download Nero earlier today but got page cannot be displayed. That is why I wanted to know if I could use win media player etc to flash cd.I had Nero here someplace from a cdrom drive I had bought,...cant find it.I still havent updated this mobo.I havent gotten out to get a damn floppy yet.Gonna try the nero site again.

UPDATE: I found the Nero disc (woohoo) !!
