| Modder-ator | What you want to do is change the boot order. Under "Advanced BIOS Options", you should be able to change which devices it starts booting from first. Change it so it boots from your optical drive first, then your hard drive. Put in your Windows CD, then save and exit the BIOS. When it reboots and goes to boot from the Windows CD, it will say "Press any key to boot from CD...". This is where you press any key (no, there isn't a key labeled "Any Key" ). Check out our Guide to installing Windows for more information! ![]() |

| When you say Optical, you mean CD Drive right? SilverStone Strider 560Watts AMD Athlon 35+ 2.2GHZ AM2 Asus M2NPV-VM MotherBoard Western Digital Caviar 160GB 8MB BUffer Kingston ValueRamDDR2 667Mhz 1GB (KVR667D2N5K2) |

| Modder-ator | Yes. An optical drive and/or optical media can refer to CD, DVD, Blu-Ray, HD-DVD, etc. I just keep saying optical drive because it is more inclusive than specifying DVD-drive or CD-drive or whatever... |

| I tried that, but for some reason, it doesn't work.. o_O 1) CDROM 2) Hard Disk.. Edit - Could it be I did Quick Boot Up? | Modder-ator | The quick boot up just means that it doesn't do a full test of your system memory every time, just a quick test. Doube check the basic main BIOS menu and make sure your drives are being detected correctly. Also, check the jumper on the back of the optical drive and set it to "Master". |

| When I first built my system I had some issues getting Windows to pickup my DVD drive or the hard drive (SATA). I ended up having to copy the drivers from my motherboard drive CD to a floppy and then boot with it in. At this point I was able to install windows. | Well, I figured out the problem, I had to change some plugs around for SATA Plugs from 1 to 3. SilverStone Strider 560Watts AMD Athlon 35+ 2.2GHZ AM2 Asus M2NPV-VM MotherBoard Western Digital Caviar 160GB 8MB BUffer Kingston ValueRamDDR2 667Mhz 1GB (KVR667D2N5K2) |
