If it just doesn't respond at all (absolutely nothing) when you hit the power button, double check the connection on the power button its self and the connection to the front I/O pin-outs on the motherboard and make sure the power button connectors are seated correctly on the right pins. If you suspect the power button might be bad (which I've had happen before) you can pull the power button header off and short the two pins on the motherboard for the power button with a paperclip or something. Also make sure the rocker switch on the back of the PSU is flipped to the on position (side with the single line).

To answer your question no it does not at all I do not know why it won't power up. Heres the sight where I got the case from its a local based company. This is the page with the case that I have ColorsIT 8027-C43 Silver/Black Midi Tower Case - 350W PSU from InternetReadyPcs. I hope this helps in some way.

Did you try as Blake suggested and short the header pins on the motherboard that connect to the case power button? Then did you follow up with what I suggested?

Would be nice to know what finally got it working?

Now I may have this wrong but why not add the drive from the old system to the new system and transfer the data you want? Temporarily install the drive and move the data. You would likely need to take ownership of the files and folders on the old drive in the new machine but I would think that would be the simplest way?

I already tried just linking it to my new machine that way but it did not like at all in that it would not boot up properly so thats why I was looking at the alternative that I was asking about previously . I simply a got a second opinion from a friend who is a avid computer user like me and he fixed it by just adding more spacers sorry nothing more spectacular than that lol.

Well go figure! Glad it is all working. Strange you can't just add the drive but anyway, this other connector, would you be thinking firewire 1394? You said it looks like USB?

Well no since I do not have a firewire port on my new rig but all I do know is that one end is a Ide connection and as I said for example a usb connection at the other end or it could be something else instead of usb. Its bugging me because I can't remember what its called lol must be my age lol.

Windows shouldn't take up that much space, are you sure you're looking at the correct value? Do you have Service Pack 1 installed?
