| I'm Diggin it! | The 680i SLI board will work with Penryn. So says "Da Man" at EVGA. If Jacob says it will, then it will. May require a BIOS update though. | so your saying if i'm not considering DDR3 and yet i consider Penryn and other Quads i'll go for 680i TR of eVga... hmmm... thanks quak... among the 680i EVGA the TR model suits my budget... yet i'm still thinking the comparison against P35, idk, i still have a lot of time to burn before budget arrives... | I'm Diggin it! | I was just answering questions/pointing things out. If I were going to buy a new motherboard today, I'd be looking at this one. Nvidia has a new chipset in the works and the 680i SLI, while still an excellent board, is getting long in the tooth. After the new x38 and Nvidia 7xx series chipsets come out, I'm not sure how much longer even EVGA's attention will be focused on the 680i support side. If your heart is set on a 680i, you can still go with that board as it's still the best gig in town for dual Nvidia card setups. But if you're using a single card, the DQ6 I linked to above would make more practical sense. | I think you should go with the Gigabyte P35 board also, like Quakin' said, if your not going to be running dual graphics cards. |
