"Stock speeds?" What is this strange language you speak?

haha, wel it looks like I'll know what stock speeds look like for awhile while I save back for my XP-90C. I don't mind though, shoot, compared to the POS I run now, though it is an AMD processor, the new rig that's going to be built will scream in comparison!! :D

I hate the chipset placement on the NF4s, until the Expert it was a big issue in my eyes.
One solution I did find was to water cool the board and use Koolance's chipset cooler on the NB, fits perfectly under the video card.
Greetings everyone, I'm new to the board, but wanted to jump in on this post.

I applaud you on ther review of the DFI board there Capper, I found it very informative and very complete in its context.

I can tell you that I also struggled with the placement of the PCI-E slots on the DFI SLI-DR board when I got it, because it put my 7800GT directly over the chipset cooler.

I'm at least happy to say that I haven't had any heat problems with either the chipset or the video card, however; and can't speak highly enough about this board - with the changes they've made to the Expert Edition of the board, I know that I'll be suggesting the new board to everyone who asks.

Cheers All,
Tuathal

WELCOME TO HARDWARE LOGIC

I've noticed that chipset problem in the Lanparty Ultra-D since i've worked with them before. I never thought it was really that big of a deal unless your watercooling, which i'm not. Now everyone can use the Expert without having to make any sacrifices since now that its fixed.

Welcome to the forums Tuathal :)

There's definitely been good changes made to the Expert board, however, for a nominal overclocker like myself, I tend to keep it on the safe side and not go for boards with highly advanced BIOS's, due to the fact one little setting could be off and bam, dead processor if you're not careful (or provide for a hair-pulling nuisance at the least, lol). If they could go heavy on the documentation for the BIOS they put on the chip, I would be inclined to give it a whack. Nice layout for W/C though

That is true killswitch. I just have to keep telling myself not to change what i don't know.

I love how the nForce2s BIOS was so damn simple. All that was really needed for overclocking was the FSB, Multi, a few voltage options, and some mem options.

I'm gonna need to start all over and learn how to overclock the athlon 64s. It looks so complicated from the BIOS screenshots i've seen.

you and me both.......but considering the price, it'll be on my "to get" list, lol. shoot, already have a NF4 Ultra Infinity sitting here ready for a build, and its BIOS is nice and simple with plenty of headroom, so I have all I need in a mobo :D
