I heard there were some RAID issues present in the Premium version, but not in the Deluxe version. Anyone know if that's true?

Yeh some users have complained about it, i personally could not replicate them and i tried as many differnent configuration/manufacture combinations as i could.

Other users are complaining of horribly long install times using Vista and are screaming for blood and blaming the P5K.This is actually because older versions of the ICH9R IMSM (Intel Matrix Storage Manager) driver (included as the VISTA boxed driver) has compatibility problems with several models of Hard Drives from particular vendors. Building a new AHCI/RAID driver disk and installing prior to Vista installation solves this problem.

Another thing that does annoy me with Asus is there slow reaction or inability to produce Bios updates when needed

This Gigabyte P35C-DS3R just took a crap on me and I ordered the P5K Premium WiFi. Gigabyte said it was because I have a xeon processor and they are nw officially supported, yet I had it clocked at 3.2GHz for a month with no issues. Gigabyte can kiss my business goodbye after that convo I had with their tech support.. Asus Is where my money is going for now.

I bought a Gigabyte board two weeks ago. A P35 based board. Worked great for the E6600, but didn't overclock my Q6600 for shit. I could only get to 2.7GHz on the Q6600. After trying to push it for a couple of days, I sent that sucker back. Now that I have my EVGA mobo back from RMA, I have it cruising along at 3.2GHz easy.

I'm loving this P5K-Premium Black Pearl. Everything the same, the Asus is about 100-200 points higher in 3DMark06. In addition, the bios is amazing and the voltage damper for the CPU eliminates vDroop, so the 3210 needs less vcore. It also seems more stable, and snappier.

I honestly don't know exactly what my board is, Asus labels it as the P5K Green but there's hardly any information for it. But damn its amazing board, so much better than my old P5N-E SLI. I dont even know if its Crossfire or SLI, it says Universal PCI-Express slots 2x

(thanks blake!)

I was curious about your P5k Green as well, and looked it up a bit today. It looks like it's just their entry level P5K series board.

I kind of wish MY P5K-E had the Voltage damper, but I guess that's what they want you to pay the extra $50 for (along with the few other features). I wonder if I could find a hacked BIOS to enable it. hmmm....
