The top doesn't really affect the air flow....if you are using an air cooler, it has air pushed right through it.....if you are using water and have a side panel fan, most side panel fans still direct air over the same region, so I don't see there being much issue at all.

I used a water cooling setup, with no special cooling for the chipsets and all were fine.

INTEL QX9650
ASUS Maximus Extreme
4GB DDR3-1600
Sapphire HD 3870X2
Danger Den Torture Rack (Custom W/C)
Seagate 750GB HDD
BFG ES 800W PSU

Ok, I wasn't sure of how it would affect cooling overall, though I guess there's enough copper to palliate that tiny aluminum plate covering that part of the heatsink. :P

If there is a final hour, let's hope for a higher power. One by one, and two by two, I have ammo, what about you?

Yeah, even though the test bench is laid out horizontally, I've had no problem at all.
I'd say the OC results are pretty damned good, and considering how far i pushed it, it had no stability problems with the 24/7 beating I gave it over 2 weeks

Brilliant review and it looks like a really good board, but its so expensive! its more than an 9800GTX (in the UK anyway). As you said, the boards overclocking abilitys are really spectacular though.
