I don't know how to put this, but, I'm kind of a big deal.

If you're shooting for 2.4GHz, I'd try the following settings:

CPU Frequency = 219
Multiplier = x11
VCore = Auto
Memclock Index = 200

If that doesn't work, I'd try setting the Memclock Index to 183. Failing that, I would also set the HT mulitplier to x4 (K8 to NB Frequency).

Can't seem to get the FSB right, it stays around 880 give or take some. I tried what you said, but actually went lower to 2190MHz.

The screen shots in the review are great, but I belive they are only there to show what are the available options. What would really help me, is to get the exact settings:

CPU frquency
Multiplier
Memlock
CPU voltage (remember, only air cooled) :)
K8 to NB
SB to NB

With these, I think I migt be set enough?

Again, thanks guys! This has been the ONLY place where I have gotten great answers, just need a wee bit more of your patience :D

------------------------------------
I tried your 219 X11, 200, down to 183, and the X4, but did not work.

Tried the 260 X10, 1.325V, mem 200, and X3 and that did not work either (well, they both did, but either got slower, or the FSB is still in the 800's - or is that good enough and I don't need anything further?)

Ok, I saw these on another site, and tried them. I got up to 2500MHz, and the system is stable and running cool. But in the ASUS AI Booster, it shows the FSB now down to 250? Is that correct, or is it actualy 250 X4 which would be 1000?

PEG = disabled
SB - NB = 200
SB - NB = 5X
CPU Voltage = 1.2875
FSB = 250
Multiplier = 10X
K8 - NB = 4X
Memlock = 166

Hopefully getting there? :)

That should be 250x4, though I don't know why AI Booster would be inconsistent in how that's labled. And on a side note, that's not really the FSB, it's the HyperTransport Link. There is no true FSB on the A64 platform, though most people use the term interchangeably with the CPU frequency (which is also incorrect). I'd recommend removing the majority of your focus from that number. The goal is to have it around the 1000 mark (2000 effective) when possible, and there's not a thing wrong with having it in the 800s (1600 effective) if that yields a desireable overclock.

So you would say that mission accomplished with this setting? It seems reliable, the temps are not high (47C on CPU, 40C on the MB - and it is afternoon and the room is warm), and no BSOD or reboots, even in Oblivion.

Looking at the latest CPU-Z, it shows the HTT at 250 also, memory frequency at 208. CPUInfo that came from AMD shows the memory bus speed at 166, HT0 frequency at 800, HT1 and HT2 frequency at 200. Is there a better tool out there to get the exact info I need to make sure all is correct?

Thanks

ver 1.33.1 is the one I have. So does this look about right? Or would there be any other setting changes you might reccomend?

Thanks all for being patient with me. After years of trying to OC, this is the first time I am finally getting close. Part of the problem was I guess I never had a good enough PSU.

Any time you need help, or ideas, this is the place to come......down the road as you gain experience you can then help others.

your settings look pretty good....you can always tinker as you go, but for just starting out you are doing a really good job

Thanks! Just thought that I might have been labled as "hijacking" the thread as it was about the mobo review. But as he had the same parts (mostly) that I do, this was the exact place to ask for specifics that would directly help me.

That is a big AFFIRMATIVE. Through the years, as I have learned things, I always share them. At the EVGA forums, I started to learn about how big the PSU really matters, and my research helped others on there. I also race cars, and play paintball (ex team mate is editor of some of PB mags), and there too I have shared my knowledge. You might say I am a firm believer in "Pay it forward" like in the movie :)

Again, THANKS for everyone's help!
