Sometimes you can flip around the power switch wire/block and it magically starts working, I have had a few rare occurrences of this

Thanks HL and Corsair!

hmmm.....i think i may have tried that but not actually sure if i did or not, so i'll give it a shot. if the ram wasnt compatible with the board would that prevent it from starting? im starting to wonder if thats the problem because everything else seems to be working fine.

First when you sat it is not starting I assume Nada, Zip as in no visible life form as in no lights and no nothing. Would that be correct? When you press the front panel power button absolutely nothing happens correct?

Now if that is the case, make absolutely sure you are connection the pwr button wires to the correct two pins on the motherboard.

Next I would likely try using a small piece of wire to short the two pins on the motherboard labled pwr. Again looking at your owners manual make sure you have the right two pins. Doing this eliminates the front panel button.

No, the wrong RAM would not likely keep it from doing anything at all. It may cause it to momentarily start and shut down but you would see some activity.

The next logical step would be to try to force the system to start. Before we worry about that try what I have suggested.

The bold part is not true actually. Faulty RAM can do that, I've seen it with my eyes. :P

I would try removing anything unecessary.
Disconnect the CD-rom, disconnect the hard drive (from the power and the board in both cases)
Leave only 1 stick of RAM, disconnect the power led, HDD led, reset button and power button.
Disconnect any additional PCI card if theres one. Disconnect any fan BUT the CPU fan.
Be sure the video card is properly inserted as well as the only RAM stick.
Make sure the power connectors are properly insert in the board (both 24 pins and additional 4/8 pins).
Try to jump the 2 pins where the power button would normally go with a flat screwdriver or a piece of conductive wire. See if the computer starts.
If you followed those instructions properly, it will really help to solve your problem.

Well finally, i got it up and running,(YAY!) Followed polobunnys instrucions and had no luck the first time. Switched out the ram and still no luck. So then I decided to go grab my crappy hipro 300watt ps. And to my surprise it worked. Took it to where i bought my OCZ ps and had the tech test it. Turns out one of the wires in the 24 pin connector was shorting out. Both myself and the tech were surprised that i didnt short out either one of my boards(Whew). Since i was smart enough to get the IPR plan when i bought it, i had them switch it out and was on my way. Everything has been smooth sailing since...well so far anyway. Thanks for all your help guys

Ah that's good. I'm glad you got your problem fixed BrokenHalo. Also good thinking on swapping out the memory. ;)

Well good deal and thanks polo as I would not think the wrong RAM would do that.
