Default Re: Tight Timings vs High Clock Frequencies

Thanks for the link Yellowhello. I had seen this article but it was a little old. He says that "There are very small real-life differences in performance between low clock frequency/fast timing Winbond memory and high clock frequency/relaxed timing Samsung memory."

I was confused, however, because I had read other articles saying there was a noticeable difference of one over the other. I was wondering if there was a clear cut answer with more modern chips and memory. Also he uses 2 different types of memory. And to confuse things more, different benchmarks favor one over the other. "If we were to draw any conclusions from this graph, it would be that SuperPI prefers tight timings, while 3DMark01 prefers high clock frequencies." I think in real-life terms this may mean that some programs that we run on our computer will prefer one over the other. Those differences may be very small.
