Are you setting the FSB or the FSB/RAM ratio? What CPU do you have? Because then we can find out what the FSB is supposed to be.

I forgot you can't have the RAM unlinked from the FSB on Intel chipsets!

sargesix, this is weird!
I have heard of CPU-Z sometimes with certain system configurations that it display's frequency's and speed's wrong.
yellowhello (Nate) looks like he's helping you along though!

If I've got any ideas, i'll butt it and speak :)

But what CPU exactly? C2D E6600 for example. Also what setting are you changing exactly, the FSB, RAM divider (or ratio), etc.?

Well then go get a timer and set it to one minute, open up micro$oft word and type out a long response to a forum post until the timer stops.
Then count how many words you typed in that time

OK, I just looked up your board. Set the DRAM Frequency to "DDR2-1066Mhz". That should do it. AnandTech: ASUS Maximus Formula SE: X38 and DDR2 Unite!
